Osteoporosis and Fragility Fractures in Mexico: A Call to Action.

Osteoporosis (OP) is a chronic disease that affects older adults' quality of life, with fragility fractures (FF) being its most significant consequence due to their impact on healthcare systems in terms of morbidity, and economic and caregiving burden. FF are defined as fractures resulting from low-energy trauma, defined as falls from a standing height or less, and are usually considered osteoporotic (1). World demographic projections warn of a significant increase in adults aged 65 and older by 2050.

Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty for Proximal Humeral Fractures: Is the Bigliani-Flatow Stem Suitable for Tuberosity Fixation and Healing?

: The aim of the study was to investigate the clinical, functional, and radiographic results of patients affected by three- or four-part proximal humeral fractures treated with reverse total shoulder arthroplasty, to investigate whether a prosthetic stem nonspecifically designed for fractures (i.e., the Bigliani-Flatow stem) promotes tuberosities' healing, and to evaluate the impact of tuberosity fixation and healing on the outcomes.

Grit, resilience and growth-mindset interventions in health professional students: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Objectives: Grit, resilience and a growth-mindset influence students' ability to positively adapt to the challenges of health professional training. However, it is unclear if interventions can improve these traits. This systematic review aimed to explore if interventions can improve these traits in health professional students (primary) and their impact on academic and/or wellbeing outcomes (secondary).

Development, implementation and evaluation of a multinational FLS mentorship programme in Latin America.

Unlabelled: Realising the benefits of systematic secondary fracture prevention requires supporting local sites to get started and becoming effective. We here describe the development, implementation and impact of a regional fracture liaison service (FLS) mentorship programme in Latin America that led to 64 FLS getting started and coverage of 17,205 patients.

Introduction: Despite treatments and service models to deliver effective secondary fracture prevention, most patients are left untreated after a fragility fracture.
