Purpose: Coccidiosis caused by eimerian parasites results in lethal watery or bloody diarrhea in hosts, and markedly impairs the growth of and feed utilization by host animals. We previously investigated detailed the life cycle of Eimeria krijgsmanni as a mouse eimerian parasite. Only second-generation meronts, as an asexual stage, were morphologically detected in the epithelium of the host cecum for at least 8 weeks after infection, even though oocyst shedding finished approximately 3 weeks after infection.

Juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia (JMML) is an aggressive pediatric leukemia with few effective treatments and poor outcomes even after stem cell transplantation, the only current curative treatment. We developed a JMML patient-derived xenograft (PDX) mouse model and demonstrated the therapeutic efficacy and confirmed the target of trametinib, a RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK pathway inhibitor, in this model. A PDX model was created through transplantation of patient JMML cells into mice, up to the second generation, and successful engraftment was confirmed using flow cytometry.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the antibody response to the bovine ephemeral fever virus (BEFV) vaccine in Japanese Black calves. Twenty-eight Japanese Black calves, which were raised on an ordinal farm, were divided into two groups. Fifteen calves received the inactivated BEFV vaccine at 12 and 16 weeks of age (vaccination group), and 13 calves did not receive the vaccine (non-vaccination group).
