Influence of connective tissue grafts on implants in the aesthetic area: A systematic review. Are connective grafts essential?

Background: Achieving adequate aesthetics with implants in the anterior sector continues to be a challenge. One of the most studied and currently used techniques is the use of autologous connective tissue grafts to improve the peri-implant soft tissues in this area. Our objective is to analyze whether these techniques have a predictable impact on the tissues and aesthetics; and if it is worth performing them.

Neurological complications following mRNA COVID-19 vaccination: Oral and lower limb paresthesia. A case discussion and literature review.

Vaccines used in the coronavirus pandemic have reported some minor side effects such as pain at the injection site, headache, myalgia and fever. Also major neurological side effects have been experienced by some patients. We present the clinical case of a healthy woman who two weeks after being vaccinated with the third dose of Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine, began to feel numbness in mouth, both feet, legs, interscapular space, and hands.

Systematic review of the oral manifestations produced by the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine.

Background: To combat the coronavirus pandemic different vaccines have been developed. However, diverse adverse effects have been reported due to their use, including oral manifestations. Our objective is to review the existing bibliography to analyze what complications these vaccines have caused in the oral cavity.

Implant survival and complications in cases of inferior alveolar nerve lateralization and atrophied mandibles with 5-year follow-up.

The objectives of this study were to evaluate the survival after 5 years of implants placed using inferior alveolar nerve (IAN) lateralization in cases of mandibular atrophy and to determine the incidence of complications. Twenty-seven patients received 74 implants by means of the IAN lateralization technique. Implant survival after 5 years of loading was 98.

Metaanalysis of the epidemiology and clinical manifestations of odontomas.

Objective: To evaluate the epidemiological and clinical aspects of the different types of odontomas.

Study Design: A metaanalysis was made of 3065 odontomas obtained from a literature review of 30 articles published in recent years.

Results: Odontomas show no gender predilection, and are most often diagnosed in the second decade of life.
