Fentanyl is a potent Schedule II narcotic analgesic recommended for use in the management of unremitting pain not controlled by morphine or other opiate/opioid drugs. The danger inherent to fentanyl is its potency (greater than 50-100 times that of morphine) and rapidity of action, causing respiratory depression within minutes of administration. Advisories have been issued on a state and national level to health care providers and through manufacturers' package inserts for patients.

However, increased life expectancy and the development of less invasive treatments have led to an interest in characterizing prostate cancer in elderly men. We determined how prostate cancer pathological characteristics differ in men older vs younger than 70 years.

The worldwide dependence on electricity to support the needs of today's society is often taken for granted and, as such, the hazards associated with the termination of electrical services are often neglected. Whether electrical services are unintentionally terminated as the result of severe weather or intentionally terminated as the result of nonpayment of utility bills, the ensuing conditions may lead to injury or death in affected individuals. We performed a retrospective review of all deaths investigated by the Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office between 1999 and 2004.

Material And Methods: We took 36-core needle biopsies in 48 autopsied prostates from men who had no history of prostate cancer. The first 18 cores corresponded to an extended biopsy protocol including six cores each in the mid peripheral zone (PZ), lateral PZ and central zone.

Clinically insignificant prostate cancers may be predicted when biopsies show a microfocal cancer (MiFC). However, at least one-third of MiFC are underestimated by biopsies. The aim of this study was to evaluate the staging accuracy of different biopsy regimen showing a MiFC.
