Intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) and endovascular therapy (EVT) are the cornerstones of acute ischemic stroke treatment. While IVT has been an integral part of acute therapy since the mid-1990s, EVT has evolved as one of the most effective treatments in medicine over the past decade. Traditionally, systemic thrombolysis has been performed with alteplase (rtPA).

In search of a molecular regulator that could simultaneously and reciprocally control both LDL and HDL levels, we screened a microRNA (miR) library using human hepatoma Huh-7 cells. We identified miR-541-3p that both significantly decreases apoB and increases apoA1 expression by inducing mRNA degradation of 2 different transcription factors, Znf101 and Casz1.

The Severe Cognitive Impairment Rating Scale (SCIRS) was designed to assess cognitive function in those with severe cognitive impairment, however, psychometric properties of its English version have not been reported.
Method: Using the existing data from StaN and tTED studies, floor and ceiling effects (percentage of minimal or maximal scores) of SCIRS and MoCA were examined, and the association between SCIRS and MoCA was evaluated.
Background: There exists clinical equipoise regarding whether and when an invasive approach should be preferred over conservative treatment in the management of stable late ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) presenting within 12 to 72 h of symptom onset.
Objective: To perform a systematic review to identify the most effective treatment strategy between percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and medical therapy in stable late STEMI presenters by comparing their respective outcomes as well as determine the optimal timing of PCI by evaluating the outcomes of urgent versus non-urgent PCI approach in this patient population.
Methods: PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane databases were queried from inception until March 2024 for studies comparing the outcomes of PCI versus medical therapy, as well as urgent versus non-urgent PCI, in stable late STEMI patients presenting with symptom onset within 12-72 h.

As a novel protein post-translational modification, lysine succinylation is widely involved in metabolism regulation. To describe succinylated lysine's physiological functions and distribution patterns in Saccharopolyspora erythraea, a large and global protein succinylome was identified in a hypersuccinylated strain E3ΔsucC, using high-resolution 4D label-free mass spectrometry. Bioinformatic analysis was conducted to examine the succinylated proteins further in this study.
