Cardiomyocyte (CM) nuclei are constantly exposed to mechanical stress, but how they maintain their nuclear shape remains unknown. In this study, we found that ventricular CM nuclei acquire characteristic prominent spatial organizations of heterochromatin (SOH), which are disrupted by high-level expression of H2B-mCherry in mice. SOH disruption was associated with nuclear softening, leading to extreme elongation and rupture under unidirectional mechanical stress.

Although AVP receptor-deficient mice exhibit various abnormalities in glucose and lipid metabolism, the mechanism underlying these symptoms remains unclear. This study aimed to explore the involvement of the gut hormones including glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and microbiota as essential mediators.

Like eukaryotes, possesses superoxide dismutase and catalase, and is resistant to ROS from host polymorphonuclear leukocytes. Oxidants such as monochloramine produced by ROS cause chronic inflammation in the gastric mucosa.

Recently, research attention has been on preventive interventions for delirium, with melatonin receptor agonists and orexin receptor antagonists reported to be effective in preventing delirium in intensive care unit patients. However, the efficacy of these agents in preventing post-stroke delirium remain unclear.
