'Hisui no Kaori' is the first lettuce ( L.) cultivar characterized by a sweet fragrance, attributed to 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline with the same compound as in fragrant rice and soybean cultivars, as well as edible leaves and stem. Field cultivation trials established optimal planting distances at 30 cm between seedlings, with a fertilizer requirement of N = 150 kg/ha.

Neuroevolution is a promising approach for designing artificial neural networks using an evolutionary algorithm. Unlike recent trending methods that rely on gradient-based algorithms, neuroevolution can simultaneously evolve the topology and weights of neural networks. In neuroevolution with topological evolution, handling crossover is challenging because of the competing conventions problem.

In this paper, we propose a Transformer-based encoder architecture integrated with an unsupervised denoising method to learn meaningful and sparse representations of vibration signals without the need for data transformation or pre-trained data. Existing Transformer models often require transformed data or extensive computational resources, limiting their practical adoption. We propose a simple yet competitive modification of the Transformer model, integrating a trainable noise reduction method specifically tailored for failure mode classification using vibration data directly in the time domain without converting them into other domains or images.

Article Synopsis
  • Rhabdomyolysis is a serious condition caused by muscle cell damage, leading to dangerous substances entering the bloodstream; this study examines a case where the interaction of the drugs rosuvastatin and vadadustat possibly caused this condition.
  • A 62-year-old male with multiple health issues experienced a sharp increase in creatine phosphokinase (CPK) levels, indicating muscle damage after switching to vadadustat while on rosuvastatin for treatment.
  • The patient's treatment plan was adjusted, leading to improvements in muscle and kidney function after discontinuing the problematic medications, allowing him to be discharged with a lower dose of rosuvastatin.
