Objective: To investigate the usefulness of pre- and post-treatment metabolic tumor volume (MTV) obtained from positron emission tomography (PET) in predicting prognosis and evaluating recurrence in patients with hypopharyngeal cancer (HPC).
Materials And Methods: Forty-three consecutive HPC patients treated with chemoradiotherapy were retrospectively analyzed. Maximum standard uptake value (SUVmax) and MTV of tumor (T) and lymph node (N) were analyzed.
To investigate speech-language pathologists' current perceptions, previous training experiences, resources, barriers, and training needs in terms of evidence-based practices (EBPs) in two Asian countries. Their knowledge and attitudes about EBP were explored using an online questionnaire. A descriptive analysis was conducted with consideration of the effect of demographic variables on knowledge and attitudes about EBP.

Their proposal suggests that cognitive load differentially affects cognitive abilities in older adults. To address their proposal, linear regression coefficients of 104 participants were calculated individually for the digit cancellation task 1 (D-CAT1), where participants search for a given single digit, and the D-CAT3, where they search for 3 digits simultaneously.

Patients with vocal fold adhesions usually undergo surgery under general anesthesia, because of the possibility of postoperative adhesions according to the severity and cause. However, it has been reported that patients with minor bridging adhesion can be treated by only discission without any postoperative adhesion. Herein, we report the case of a patient with idiopathic bridging vocal fold adhesions who was treated by ambulatory surgery at the ENT clinic and showed a benign course.
