Article Synopsis
  • The study focused on identifying key immune molecules for diagnosing S. stercoralis infections using serum samples tested with specific antigens (AgS and AgM).
  • Results from IgG-ELISA showed decent sensitivity (82.3 to 85.3%) and varying specificity (60.0 to 93.3%), but some cross-reactivity with other helminth infections was noted.
  • A specific 140 kDa protein from AgS demonstrated perfect sensitivity and specificity without cross-reactivity, indicating its potential for creating reliable immunodiagnostic tests for strongyloidiasis.

Motor-evoked potential (MEP) monitoring is an electrophysiologic technique useful for testing peripheral motor nerve integrity during cryoablation cases with risk of nerve injury. Previously, neuromonitoring within the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) suite for cryoablation has not been performed as magnetic needles are used which could cause magnetic field interactions with neuromonitoring leads. We present the first report of a patient who underwent MEP monitoring during MRI-guided cryoablation of a vascular malformation adjacent to the brachial plexus.

Objective: To analyze factors associated with full vaccination coverage with valid doses, in children from four state capitals and three other cities in Southeast Brazil.

Method: Analysis of a population survey conducted in 2020-2021, with a sample stratified according to socioeconomic levels of children born in 2017-2018, with data collected through photographic records of their vaccination cards. Odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (95%CI) for full vaccination coverage were estimated based on the characteristics of the family, mother and child.
