A woman in her 80 s presented with generalized lymphadenopathy, bone marrow (BM) involvement, and leukemic manifestation. Lymph node biopsy revealed typical histopathology of mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) and the CD5 and immunoglobulin μδ/λ immunophenotype, with unmutated IGHV. BM was infiltrated with not only MCL but also another B-cell tumor that was CD5 and μδ/κ, being consistent with M proteins in the serum and urine, with mutated IGHV.

Background: Mechanical cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) devices address the limitations of manual CPR, but their impact on intrathoracic injuries during extracorporeal CPR (ECPR) remains unclear. This study investigated the relationship between mechanical CPR and severe intrathoracic hemorrhage during ECPR compared to manual CPR.

Methods: We conducted a single-center retrospective study of consecutive patients who underwent ECPR from April 2017 to March 2024 according to a standard institutional protocol.

With recent advancements concerning the optimization of the analytical conditions, it is feasible to analyze polar molecules using supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC). In this study, the applicability of SFC is evaluated for analyzing 5-, 10-, 15-, and 18-mer oligonucleotides, and SFC is then applied to analyze deaminated products, which are side products generated during oligonucleotide synthesis. These side products are difficult to separate from the target oligonucleotide, with the difficulty varying depending on the deamination position and sequences, even when using ion-pair reversed-phase liquid chromatography (IP-RPLC), a common method for oligonucleotide analysis.
