Evaluation of Inflammatory Parameters Following Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) and Ureteroscopy for the Treatment of Proximal Ureteral Stones.

Introduction Inflammation can arise as a consequence of both extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) and ureteroscopy (URS) treatments. Alterations in inflammatory parameters may serve as indicators of kidney injuries and the ensuing inflammation. This study aims to investigate the effects of ESWL and URS procedures on inflammatory parameters for proximal ureteral stone treatment.

CORRELATION OF C-REACTIVE PROTEIN AND COPD SEVERITY.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a progressive pulmonary disease characterized by systemic inflammation. The aim of this study was to correlate the parameters of systemic inflammation, C-reactive protein (CPR) and total leukocyte count, with clinical indicators of the disease. Risk factors analysis for occurrence of asymptomatic bacteriuria after endourological procedures.

Introduction: Endourological procedures are performed according to the principles of aseptic techniques, jet still in certain number of patients urinary tract infections may occur. Considering the risk of urinary tract infection, there is no unique opinion about the prophylactic use of antibiotics in endourological procedures.

Goal: The objective of this study was to determine the connection between endourological procedures and occurrence of urinary infections and to analyze the risk factors of urinary infection for patients who were hospitalized at the Urology Clinic of the Clinical Center University of Sarajevo CCUS.
