Searching for natural alternatives to replace environmentally harmful chemical reagents in analysis is just as crucial as finding easily accessible analytical tools. To reinforce these concepts, this study proposes a simple spectrofluorometric approach using natural carbon quantum dots (n-CQDs) as fluorescence probes for sensitive and environmentally friendly measurement of molnupiravir, an antiviral drug that was initially developed for influenza and has demonstrated potential efficacy against COVID-19. n-CQDs were synthesized using garlic peels (GP), a waste material, via a microwave-assisted method.

In particular, a significant risk of prostate cancer has been linked to a tight familial lineage. However, to provide insight into how prostate cancer is inherited, characterising its genetic profile is essential.

Current breast augmentation options face limitations and potential associated complications. Implant-based augmentation introduces risks such as capsular contracture and malpositioning, whereas fat grafting poses issues such as induration and infections, necessitating revisions. Tissue engineering, integrating 3-dimensional (3D) printing and biomaterials science, aims to overcome these challenges.

The 2-C-methylerythritol-D-erythritol-4-phosphate (MEP) pathway represents an attractive source of drug targets due to its essential role in numerous pathogenic Gram-negative bacteria and Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mt), whilst being absent in human cells. Here, we solved the first crystal structure of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Pa) IspD, the third enzyme in the MEP pathway and present the discovery of a fragment-based compound class identified through crystallographic screening of PaIspD.
