Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) aims to cure patients without inducing severe graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) or relapse. In prospective studies of mostly pediatric patients with haploidentical donors, ex vivo αβTCR/CD19 depletion has shown to have low incidences of GVHD, but data for adults with matched related (MRD) or unrelated donors (MUD) remain limited. We analyzed the outcomes of recipients who received a myeloablative regimen plus ATG, followed by an αβTCR/CD19-depleted allograft (cohort D+ATG (n = 122)), and compared outcomes to T cell-replete cohorts (cohort R (N = 60)); without ATG; R+ATG = with ATG (N = 129) in a single-center retrospective analysis.

Background & Aims: Medical nutrition therapy (MNT) is commonly used in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) undergoing intensive remission-induction treatment to prevent malnutrition, particularly the loss of fat-free mass (FFM)/muscle mass, as well as associated adverse outcomes. However, studies examining the associations between proactive versus wait-and-see approaches toward MNT and nutritional, physical, and clinical outcomes in these patients are lacking. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the associations between these different MNT approaches and body composition changes, as well as physical and clinical outcomes in AML/MDS patients undergoing intensive remission-induction treatment.

This study aims to evaluate inter-physician variation in delineation of the lateral compartments, and the impact of training and implementation of standardized delineation protocols.
Methods: Twenty-three radiation oncologists from 15 institutes delineated the clinical target volume (CTV) on CT-scan in one example of a patient with rectal cancer.
Inhibition of GABAergic interneurons has been found to critically fine-tune the excitation-inhibition balance of the cortex. Inhibition is mediated by many connectivity motifs formed by GABAergic neurons. One such motif is the inhibition of somatostatin (SST)-expressing neurons by vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP)-expressing neurons.
