Objective: Interest in long-term outcomes of radical hysterectomy for cervical cancer has increased, especially after the LACC trial findings, which showed worse outcomes for minimally invasive surgery. However, limited information is available on 10-year oncological outcomes, particularly, recurrence and survival. The primary objective of this study was to analyze the 10-year oncological outcomes of patients with International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics 2009 stage IB1 cervical cancer treated with radical hysterectomy performed via minimally invasive or open approaches.

Mechanical ventilation can be a life-saving intervention, but its implementation requires a multidisciplinary approach, with an understanding of its indications and contraindications due to the potential for complications. The management of mechanical ventilation should be part of the curricula during clinical training; however, trainees and practicing professionals frequently report low confidence in managing mechanical ventilation, often seeking additional sources of knowledge. Review articles, consensus statements and clinical practice guidelines have become important sources of guidance in mechanical ventilation, and although clinical practice guidelines offer rigorously developed recommendations, they take a long time to develop and can address only a limited number of clinical questions.

Purpose: Estrogen receptor-low (ER-low) breast cancer (BC) present clinicopathological features and disease behavior resembling triple-negative breast cancer, but have been frequently excluded from pivotal trials designed for the latter. Since neoadjuvant pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy (P + CT) is the new standard of care for stage II-III triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), we aimed to access the effectiveness of this therapy for ER-low tumors.

Methods: We evaluated patients with ER-low BC included in the Neo-Real/ GBECAM-0123 study, a real-world data study evaluating patients treated with neoadjuvant P + CT since July 2020 across ten cancer centers.

There is no consensus in the literature regarding the ideal protocol for obtaining and preparing cell samples for untargeted metabolomics. Nevertheless, the procedures must be carefully evaluated for proper and reliable results for each organism under study. This work proposes a novel protocol for determining intracellular metabolites in Leishmania promastigotes and is fully optimized for application in conjunction with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry platforms.
