Purpose: The potential of Large Language Models (LLMs) in enhancing a variety of natural language tasks in clinical fields includes medical imaging reporting. This pilot study examines the efficacy of a retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) LLM system considering zero-shot learning capability of LLMs, integrated with a comprehensive database of PET reading reports, in improving reference to prior reports and decision making.
Methods: We developed a custom LLM framework with retrieval capabilities, leveraging a database of over 10 years of PET imaging reports from a single center.
Objective: Although NOG variants are linked to congenital stapes fixation and conductive hearing loss (CHL), little is known about middle ear surgery outcomes and the characteristics of accompanying inner ear anomalies. We explored auditory phenotypes in patients with NOG variants, with a focus on the outcomes of middle ear surgery.
Methods: This study included 11 patients from five unrelated Korean families harboring NOG variants.
Hexavalent chromium (CrVI) is known to cause lung cancer among workers exposed to high concentrations in certain historical industries. It is also a toxic air contaminant considered to pose a potentially significant cancer risk at comparatively low concentrations in urban air. However, very limited data currently exist to quantify risk at low-concentration occupational or environmental exposures.
