Robotic extended total extraperitoneal transversus abdominus release for traumatic flank and abdominal intercostal hernias.

Purpose: Traumatic abdominal intercostal/flank hernias present a perplexing challenge for surgeons seeking to repair them. There has been a paucity of studies describing robotic repairs of such hernias. We aim to evaluate the effectiveness of the Robotic-assisted Extended Total Extraperitoneal/Transversus Abdominus Release (rETEP/TAR) method in repairing traumatic abdominal intercostal and flank hernias.

Primary medullary adenocarcinoma of the colon: Literature review and case series.

Aims: Medullary carcinoma of the colon is a rare subtype of adenocarcinoma, first described in 1999. Clinically known to have a favourable prognosis in comparison to poorly differentiated cancers, it is associated with deficient mismatch repair. This is an observational single center study of patients with medullary cancer, and comparison with the current literature.

Pexidartinib (PLX3397) is a small-molecule inhibitor of CSF1R, KIT, and oncogenic FTL3, which are implicated in GBM treatment resistance. Results from glioma models indicate that combining radiation therapy (RT) and pexidartinib reduces radiation resistance.

Don't think of a pink elephant: Individual differences in visualisation predict involuntary imagery and its neural correlates.

There are substantial differences in the capacity of people to have imagined visual experiences, ranging from a lifelong inability (Congenital Aphantasia) to people who report having imagined experiences that are as vivid as actually seeing (Hyper-Phantasia). While Congenital Aphantasia has typically been framed as a cognitive deficit, it is possible that a weak or absent ability to have imagined visual sensations is balanced by a heightened resistance to intrusive thoughts - which are experienced as an imagined sensation. Here, we report on a direct test of that proposition.
