Chylothorax, a postoperative complication of CHD surgery, involves chyle accumulation in the pleural cavity, posing challenges in diagnosis and management. This retrospective study investigates the prevalence, aetiology, management, and outcomes of postoperative chylothorax in paediatric patients undergoing cardiac corrective surgery at a tertiary care centre over 15 years. Medical records of paediatric patients who underwent cardiothoracic surgery at the Children's Heart Center at the American University of Beirut Medical Center between 2007 and 2022 were retrospectively reviewed.

This review examines the contribution of nanomaterial-based drug delivery systems to solving the problems associated with bacterial resistance and provides a thorough overview of their mechanisms of action, efficiency, and perspectives for the future. Owing to their unique physicochemical properties, nanomaterials reveal new ways of passing through the traditional mechanisms of bacterial defence connected to the permeability barrier of membranes, efflux pumps, and biofilm formation.

As photobiomodulation is growing in the dental field the aim of this prospective, two-arm clinical trial was to assess the radiographic changes for chronic periapical bone lesions related to mandibular molars after primary root canal therapy with or without applying Diode laser on soft tissue. The samples were randomly divided into a Laser group and a mock laser (ML) group. Preoperative CBCT images were compared 12 months later with postoperative CBCT to gauge the changes in the volume of the bony lesion by two observers.
