Background: The effectiveness of using a balloon guide catheter during endovascular thrombectomy in patients with acute ischaemic stroke due to large vessel occlusion of the anterior circulation remains uncertain. We aimed to assess the effectiveness and safety of using a balloon guide catheter during endovascular thrombectomy, compared with using a conventional guide catheter, in this patient population.

Methods: We conducted a multicentre, open-label, blinded-endpoint, randomised controlled trial at 28 hospitals in China.

Background: The D-dimer-to-fibrinogen ratio (DFR) is a good indicator of thrombus activity in thrombotic diseases, but its clinical role in acute ischaemic stroke (AIS) patients with different etiologies has not been studied. We evaluated the diagnostic value of the DFR for different subtypes of AIS.

Methods: We conducted a single-center retrospective study of 269 patients with AIS who were referred to our stroke center within 4.

To analyze the influencing factors of futile recanalization after endovascular therapy (EVT) in acute ischemic stroke patients with large vessel occlusions (AIS-LVO). AIS-LVO patients who underwent EVT with successful recanalization between January 2019 and December 2021 in Neurovascular Center of Changhai Hospital of Naval Medical University were retrospectively selected. Modified Rankin scale (mRS) score 3 months after EVT was used as the prognostic evaluation index, and patients with mRS scores≤2 were classified as the meaningful recanalization group and mRS scores 3-6 as the futile recanalization group.

Article Synopsis
  • The study examined the safety and effectiveness of a staged stenting approach for treating acutely wide-neck ruptured intracranial aneurysms.
  • The analysis included five studies with a total of 143 patients, showing low complication rates and a progression in aneurysm occlusion rates from initial coiling to staged stenting.
  • The results indicated a favorable clinical outcome with staged stenting, highlighting the need for more controlled studies to compare this method with standard care approaches.
