Small bowel gastrointestinal stromal tumor presenting with gastrointestinal bleeding in patient with type 1 Neurofibromatosis: Management and laparoscopic treatment. Case report and review of the literature.

Introduction And Importance: Gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) is the most common mesenchymal neoplasm of the gastrointestinal tract. It may be asymptomatic; nevertheless, gastrointestinal bleeding is the most frequent symptom, due to mucosal erosion. Its poor lymph node metastatic spread makes GIST often suitable of minimally invasive surgical approach.

Development of Novel Amides as Noncovalent Inhibitors of Immunoproteasomes.

The development of immunoproteasome-selective inhibitors is a promising strategy for treating hematologic malignancies, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. In this context, we report the design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of a new series of amide derivatives as immunoproteasome inhibitors. Notably, the designed compounds act as noncovalent inhibitors, which might be a promising therapeutic option because of the lack of drawbacks and side effects associated with irreversible inhibition.

G-Protein-Coupled Receptor Kinase 2 (GRK2) Inhibitors: Current Trends and Future Perspectives.

G-protein-coupled receptor kinase 2 (GRK2) is a G-protein-coupled receptor kinase that is ubiquitously expressed in many tissues and regulates various intracellular mechanisms. The up- or down-regulation of GRK2 correlates with several pathological disorders. GRK2 plays an important role in the maintenance of heart structure and function; thus, this kinase is involved in many cardiovascular diseases.

[Intraperitoneal traumatic rupture of hydatid cyst of the liver: a case report and review of the literature].

We performed a subtotal cystectomy on the second and third hepatic segments, with the aid of a radiofrequency dissector device (Ligasure), together with removal of daughter cysts from the peritoneal cavity and irrigation of the peri- toneum with iodine solution. The postoperative course was uneventful and complication-free. A three-year follow-up was carried out without any recurrence.

Isolated polyarteritis nodosa of the large bowel: a case report.

Polyarteritis nodosa is a form of vasculitis that affects several organs. Gastrointestinal involvement is frequent, but cases in which the gastrointestinal tract is the only site of disease are rare. In this paper we report a case of a 70-year-old patient with polyarteritis nodosa restricted to the large intestine, who underwent a total colectomy.
