Molecular motors fulfill critical functions within all living beings. Understanding their underlying working principles is therefore of great interest. Here we develop a simple model inspired by the two-component biomolecular motor F_{o}-F_{1} ATP synthase.

The third dimension provides more malleability regarding their properties and more flexibility for potential applications. However, the stabilization and characterization of such quasi-particles in easily implementable systems remain a work in progress.

The present report is an update at a mean 20 years' follow-up, addressing 2 issues: (1) implant survival at a mean 20 years; and (2) long-term complications with the metal-on-metal bearing. Twenty-eight millimeters MoM bearings show good survival at 20 years in young active subjects.
