Superconductivity in PrNiO Infinite-Layer Nickelates.

Several reports about infinite-layer nickelate thin films suggest that the superconducting critical temperature versus chemical doping phase diagram has a dome-like shape, similar to cuprates. Here, a highly reproducible superconducting state in undoped PrNiO thin films grown on SrTiO are demonstrated. Scanning transmission electron microscopy measurements show coherent infinite-layer phase with no visible stacking-fault defects, an overall high structural quality where possible unintentional chemical doping or interstitial oxygen, if present, sum well below the measurable threshold of the technique.

Transcriptome Study in Sicilian Patients with Huntington's Disease.

The disease typically manifests between the second and third decades of life and progresses gradually. The pathogenesis of HD involves the dysregulation of gene expression, influenced by various molecular processes ranging from transcription to protein stability.

The Role of ETNPPL in Dopaminergic Neuron Stability: Insights from Neuromelanin-Associated Protein Expression in Parkinson's Disease.

More than six million people worldwide are affected by Parkinson's disease (PD), a multifactorial disorder characterized by the progressive loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta (SNc). Several immunohistochemical studies suggest that neuromelanin (NM), found in these neurons, plays a key role in their degeneration. In this study, twelve formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) brain sections were analyzed, comprising six samples from PD patients and six from healthy controls.

Dirac-Like Fermions Anomalous Magneto-Transport in a Spin-Polarized Oxide 2D Electron System.

In a 2D electron system (2DES) the breaking of the inversion, time-reversal and bulk crystal-field symmetries is interlaced with the effects of spin-orbit coupling (SOC) triggering exotic quantum phenomena. Here, epitaxial engineering is used to design and realize a 2DES characterized simultaneously by ferromagnetic order, large Rashba SOC and hexagonal band warping at the (111) interfaces between LaAlO, EuTiO, and SrTiO insulators. The 2DES displays anomalous quantum corrections to the magneto-conductance driven by the time-reversal-symmetry breaking occurring below the magnetic transition temperature.

Transcriptome Study in Sicilian Patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

ASD is a complex condition primarily rooted in genetics, although influenced by environmental, prenatal, and perinatal risk factors, ultimately leading to genetic and epigenetic alterations. These mechanisms may manifest as inflammatory, oxidative stress, hypoxic, or ischemic damage. To elucidate potential variances in gene expression in ASD, a transcriptome analysis of peripheral blood mononuclear cells was conducted via RNA-seq on 12 ASD patients and 13 healthy controls, all of Sicilian ancestry to minimize environmental confounds.
