Cellular adaptations to change often involve post-translational modifications of nuclear and cytoplasmic proteins. An example found in protists and plants is the modification of serine and threonine residues of dozens to hundreds of nucleocytoplasmic proteins with a single fucose (O-Fuc). A nucleocytoplasmic O-fucosyltransferase (OFT) occurs in the pathogen , the social amoeba , and higher plants, where it is called Spy because mutants have a spindly appearance.

Introduction: Tenofovir is integral to antiretroviral therapy (ART) and pre‑exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV; however, neuropsychiatric adverse events (NPAEs) associated with its use have not been systematically investigated.

Objectives: This systematic review aimed to characterize common NPAEs occurring during tenofovir‑based ART and PrEP, and to assess the specific role of tenofovir in their emergence.

Patients And Methods: Four literature databases and 3 trial registries were searched up to December 31, 2023 for randomized controlled trials reporting NPAEs in treatment‑naive adults receiving tenofovir‑based ART or PrEP.

We present an experimental implementation of a polarization-entangled photon-pair source based on beam displacers. The down-converted photons are emitted via spontaneous parametric downconversion in a non-degenerate and type-0 process. We obtain a state fidelity of F = 0.

Based on the relevance of an established and broad foundation of physical activity in healthcare, this position paper of the DNVF working group Physical Activity-Related Health Services research presents current conceptual approaches to physical activity-related health services in Germany and highlights the need for interprofessional and interdisciplinary approaches. Three central positions are outlined and elaborated in order to integrate the evidence on health benefits of physical activity and exercise more strongly into healthcare and to show that, against the background of the challenges in the German healthcare system, physical activity-related health services can make a cost-effective and high-quality contribution to improve healthcare. These three positions include 1) the integration of all professional groups involved in healthcare into physical activity-related health services, 2) the greater integration of physical activity professions and physical activity interventions into all healthcare contexts and 3) the systematic consideration of physical activity- and exercise-related expertise in clinical guidelines.

Expansion microscopy (ExM) is a superresolution technique for fixed specimens that improves resolution of a given microscopy system approximately fourfold. The gain in resolution in ExM is not achieved by improvement of the resolution of the microscope itself but by isotropic expansion of the sample. To achieve this, the sample is cross-linked to an expandable gel matrix that swells approximately fourfold by incubation in water.
