Parametric Study of Girders with Sinusoidal Corrugated Web.

Recently, steel girders with sinusoidal corrugations have become increasingly popular compared to those with traditional flat webs. This paper presents the second part of the research on the application of corrugated plates with different sinusoidal profiles as webs in girders. Parametric studies have been carried out in both linear and nonlinear domains, based on a representative numerical model developed and validated by experimental results.

Results of the Nerve Transfers and Secondary Procedures to Restore Shoulder and Elbow Function in Traumatic Upper Brachial Plexus Palsy.

Damage to the upper trunk of the brachial plexus, often caused by high-energy trauma, leads to significant functional impairment of the upper limb. This injury primarily affects the C5 and C6 roots, resulting in paralysis of muscles critical for shoulder and elbow function. If spontaneous nerve regeneration does not occur within 3-6 months post-injury, surgical intervention, including nerve transfers, is recommended to restore function.

Synthesis, Absolute Configuration, Biological Profile and Antiproliferative Activity of New 3,5-Disubstituted Hydantoins.

Hydantoins, a class of five-membered heterocyclic compounds, exhibit diverse biological activities. The aim of this study was to synthesize and characterize a series of novel 3,5-disubstituted hydantoins and to investigate their antiproliferative activity against human cancer cell lines. The new hydantoin derivatives - were prepared as racemic mixtures of - and -isomers via a base-assisted intramolecular amidolysis of C-3 functionalized β-lactams.

Applying an Equity Lens to Pediatric Obesity: Clinical, Environmental, and Policy Considerations for Clinicians.

The etiology of pediatric obesity is complex and multifactorial. This article encourages pediatric clinicians to consider patient's socioenvironmental context and structural discrimination as drivers of pediatric obesity. Viewing pediatric obesity through an equity lens can inform clinical practice, advocacy, and policy to promote equity.
