Mechanical ventilator plays a vital role in saving millions of lives. Patients with COVID-19 symptoms need a ventilator to survive during the pandemic. Studies have reported that the mortality rates rise from 50% to 97% in those requiring mechanical ventilation during COVID-19.

Nanoparticles carrying active drug substances have been used since the 70's and have undergone numerous improvements since then. Nowadays, the latest generation of nanoparticles, called lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), is used for different applications such as vaccines and cancer treatments and offer a versatile approach to delivering genetic materials like RNA. LNPs are non-viral delivery vehicles obtained by the self-assembly of lipids during the rapid mixing of an aqueous phase containing mRNA with an organic phase containing lipids.

Little is known about the effects of tree shelters on the early response of oak seedlings produced by acorn seeding. In this paper, we explore the effects on holm oak (Quercus ilex L. subsp.

RNA interference is a widely used biological process by which double-stranded RNA induces sequence-specific gene silencing by targeting mRNA for degradation. However, the physicochemical properties of siRNAs make their delivery extremely challenging, thus limiting their bioavailability at the target site. In this context, we developed a versatile and selective siRNA delivery system of a trastuzumab-conjugated nanocarrier.

A system of particles with motility variable in terms of a vision-type of perception is investigated by a combination of Langevin dynamics simulations in two-dimensional systems and an analytical approach based on conservation law principles. Persistent swirling with predetermined direction is here induced by differentiating the self-propulsion direction and the perception cone axis. Clusters can have a fluidlike center with a rotating outer layer or display a solidlike rotation driven by the outer layer activity.
