Is there a relationship between the severity of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome and the systemic immune inflammation index?

Aim: Vascular dysfunction, oxidative stress and systemic inflammation are considered responsible for the pathophysiology of Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS). It is thought that desaturation due to apnea-hypopnea attacks in OSAS patients activates inflammatory pathways. In this study, we aimed to reveal the relationship between inflammation parameters Systemic immune inflammation index (SII), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratios (PLR) severity of OSAS in patients who underwent polysomnography in our hospital's sleep laboratory.

Neuropsychiatric Effects of COVID-19 Pandemic on Alzheimer's Disease: A Comparative Study of Total and Partial Lockdown.

Objectives: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-related lockdown may have a negative effect on the neuropsychiatric status of Alzheimer's disease (AD) cases. In this study, it was aimed to find future implications by evaluating the neuropsychiatric conditions of AD cases during total and partial lockdown periods.

Methods: It is a prospective, cross-sectional, and multicenter study that includes AD cases which have been followed for at least 1 year by outpatient clinics from different regions of Turkey.

Laryngeal chondrosarcoma treated with conventional radiotherapy - case report and review of the literature.

We report a case of a 68-year-old patient with laryngeal chondrosarcoma, whose first symptoms were hoarseness and gradually increasing dyspnoea, but there was no sign of disease in clinical examination, which postponed the diagnosis. The patient underwent complete laryngectomy and adjuvant conformal radiotherapy with a total dose of 70 Gy. The pathological assessment confirmed advanced laryngeal chondrosarcoma originating from thyroid cartilage.

Spontaneous Resolution of an Orbital Mass After Delivery: A Diagnostic Challenge.
