Introduction: In myotonic dystrophy type 2 (DM2), metabolic dysfunctions are frequent. Therefore, measurement of muscle mass and body composition by non-invasive methods could help in evaluating disease severity and progression. The aim of our study was to investigate, by means of bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA), whether DM2 patients have an alteration in their body composition and if this finding correlates with strength and motor performances.

This study aimed to develop a hemi-hepatic ischemia model for assessing liver ischemia using single snapshot imaging of optical properties (SSOP), a noninvasive optical imaging modality that provides real-time measurements of tissue oxygen saturation (StO2).
Materials And Methods: Twelve swine were randomly assigned to two groups: One undergoing total vascular inflow occlusion (TVIO) and the other undergoing hepatic artery occlusion (HAO).
Background: Hemorrhoidal disease (HD) significantly impacts patients' quality of life. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of preoperative treatment with the micronized purified flavonoid fraction (MPFF) and a sucralfate-based rectal ointment in managing HD symptoms and reducing interventions.
Methods: A prospective quasi-experimental study including consecutive cases and controls matched on the basis of sex was performed in a tertiary referral center.
Introduction: Fertility-sparing treatments are increasingly used in patients with early-stage cervical cancer. The residual shortened cervix might increase the risk of preterm birth. When a vaginal cerclage is not technically feasible, a laparoscopic transabdominal cerclage (LAC) could be offered before or after conception.
