Herpes zoster in an immunocompetent adolescent - A case of rare occurrence.

Herpes zoster is an acute viral infection caused by the reactivation of the varicella zoster virus. It occurs commonly in immunocompromised adults. Odontalgia may be an early prodromal symptom when herpes zoster involves the oral and maxillofacial region, which lays significant emphasis on the role of a dentist in early diagnosis and treatment of the infection.

Secondary metabolites synthesized by endophytic fungi have garnered significant interest for their broad applications in treating various ailments. In this study involving 20 plant samples, 11 endophytic fungi were isolated and cultured, and Lasiodiplodia pseudotheobromae EF-9, derived from Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, demonstrated greater antibacterial efficacy than the other isolated endophytes. Objective: This study aimed to investigate the potential correlation between dermatoglyphic patterns and primary canine relationships in children aged three to six years. Dermatoglyphics, the study of ridge patterns on fingers, has been linked to various genetic and developmental conditions. Similarly, primary canine relationships provide insights into dental health and potential orthodontic needs.

Telerehabilitation has the potential to help expand the reach of rehabilitation intervention. An online questionnaire-based Delphi method set out to develop a telerehabilitation guideline for patients in Indonesia with Long COVID. A Delphi panel comprised of 24 experts was selected from all relevant disciplines.

The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health to map leprosy-related disability in rural and remote areas in Indonesia.

The International Classification of Function, Disability, and Health (ICF-WHO, 2001) recognizes several dimensions of disability, such as body structure and function (and impairment thereof), activity (and activity restrictions) and participation (and participation restriction) and their interactions with contextual factor (personal and environmental). In this study, we map and analyse the relationship between the components of ICF in leprosy patients from two rural areas in Indonesia: Lewoleba (East Nusa Tenggara) and Likupang (North Minahasa). This study was part of a community outreach program by the KATAMATAKU team from Universitas Indonesia.
