Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate one-year clinical outcomes in cataract patients with pre-existing corneal astigmatism implanted with a biconvex aspheric toric monofocal intraocular lens (IOL) with a double C-loop haptic-design.
Methods: One hundred and eighteen patients (236 eyes) with corneal astigmatism (≥0.75D) were implanted bilaterally with the PODEYE toric IOL and assessed up to 1-year after surgery.

Purpose: To demonstrate that intense pulsed light therapy (IPL) of the upper and lower eyelids with meibomian gland expression (MGX) is effective in improving dry eye disease due to meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD).
Methods: Patients with ocular discomfort (Ocular Surface Disease Index -OSDI- above 13) and signs of MGD were recruited. All patients underwent OSDI, visual acuity (VA), intraocular pressure, Schirmer test, meibography, non-invasive tear breakup time (NITBUT), slit-lamp examination (corneal and conjunctival staining, hyperemia, gland expressibility, and meibum quality), tear osmolarity and lipid layer thickness.
Introduction: We describe a technique using an sclerocorneal endograft sewed through the cornea to solve late scleromalacia following exoresection and brachytherapy of a ciliary body melanoma.
Methods: Vitrectomy ports were placed. A perforating 400-micron trepan keratoplasty of the cornea was performed allowing the prepared donor graft to be inserted and sutured in place.
Purpose: There is a constant controversy between performing cataract surgery for one eye or for both eyes in the same surgical session. The objective of this study is to review the scientific evidence on the efficacy and safety, determine the reduction of costs of sequential bilateral cataract surgery on the same day compared to unilateral cataract surgery, as well as to compare the rate of associated complications.
Methods: A comprehensive search of the PubMed and Web of Science databases has been conducted to identify relevant articles on sequential bilateral cataract surgery from 2000 to 31 of December of 2020.
Currently, brachytherapy is the most commonly used therapeutic approach for uveal melanomas. Surgical resection by means of endoresection or exoresection is an alternative approach. The present report recounts our experience over 15 years in the treatment of uveal melanoma using a combined approach of resection surgery with brachytherapy.
