  • Immune semaphorins, specifically sema3A and sema4A, play a significant role in autoimmune diseases, particularly Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
  • In MS patients, sema3A expression on T regulatory cells is significantly decreased, while serum levels of sema4A are increased compared to healthy individuals, indicating a dysregulation in these molecules.
  • The study suggests that sema3A functions as a regulatory molecule and sema4A as a stimulatory one in the context of MS, highlighting their potential as therapeutic targets for treatment.
