The long-term effects of ischemic stroke on cognition and mental health are not reflected in traditional outcome metrics, like the modified Rankin Scale (mRS) for functional independence. Consequently, this may lead to mismatches in perceptions of overall recovery, despite otherwise qualifying as having good functional outcomes (mRS 0-2). In our multicenter, multinational analysis, we aim to describe the prevalence of, and factors associated with, patient-reported cognitive impairment despite achieving good functional outcomes.

In this work, we demonstrate heterostructures built from single-layer MoS (n-type) and multilayer FePS (p-type) as multifunctional p-n junctions where robust photoluminescent light emission and broadband electrical photo-response coexist. This is made possible by the inherent properties of the materials involved and the precise energy band alignment at their interface, which preserves the photoluminescent emission provided by the single-layer MoS and confers exceptional tunability to the system.

In order to do this, we gathered longitudinal studies which evaluated neurocognition and/or social cognition regarding their impact on long-term social functioning of FEP patients.
Methods: The MOOSE method was employed and 28 studies covering data from a total of 2572 patients with longitudinal trajectories from 2 months to 5 years were reviewed.
Importance: Approximately 10% to 20% of large vessel occlusion (LVO) strokes involve tandem lesions (TLs), defined as concomitant intracranial LVO and stenosis or occlusion of the cervical internal carotid artery. Mechanical thrombectomy (MT) may benefit patients with TLs; however, optimal management and procedural strategy of the cervical lesion remain unclear.
Objective: To evaluate the association of carotid artery stenting (CAS) vs no stenting and medical management with functional and safety outcomes among patients with TL-LVOs.
We report the synthesis of a dibenzodinaphthocoronene (DBDNC) derivative as a novel nanographene with armchair, zigzag, and fjord edges, which was characterized by NMR and X-ray crystallography as well as infrared (IR) and Raman spectroscopies. Ultrafast transient absorption (TA) spectroscopy revealed the presence of stimulated emission signals at 655 nm and 710 nm with a relatively long lifetime, which resulted in dual amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) bands under ns-pulsed excitation, indicating the promise of DBNDC as a near-infrared (NIR) fluorophore for photonics. Our results provide new insight into the design of nanographene with intriguing optical properties by incorporating fjord edges.
