Background: The Adiana® Permanent Contraception System was a hysteroscopic tubal occlusion device but was withdrawn from the market in 2012.

Objective: To evaluate the safety, feasibility and efficacy of the Adiana hysteroscopic tubal occlusion.

Materials And Methods: A prospective observational multicentre cohort study of 300 women undergoing hysteroscopic sterilisation using the Adiana® was conducted in the Netherlands between 2009 and 2012.

Impact of gene polymorphisms involved in the vitamin D metabolic pathway on the susceptibility to and severity of autism spectrum disorder.

This study explores the association between genetic variations in the vitamin D pathway and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) susceptibility and severity in Thai children. A total of 276 participants, including 169 children with ASD and 107 healthy controls, were recruited. Genotyping of vitamin D pathway genes (CYP2R1, CYP27B1, GC, and VDR) was conducted using TaqMan-based real-time PCR, while serum vitamin D levels were measured by chemiluminescence immunoassay.

Therapeutic antibodies (Abs) which act on a broader range of epitopes may provide more durable protection against the genetic drift of a target, typical of viruses or tumors. When these Abs exist concurrently on the targeted antigen, several mechanisms of action (MoAs) can be engaged, boosting therapeutic potency. This study selected combinations of four and five Abs with non- or partially overlapping epitopes to the SARS-CoV-2 spike glycoprotein, on or outside the crucial receptor binding domain (RBD), to offer resilience to emerging variants and trigger multiple MoAs.

Paraneoplastic anti-TIF1-gamma-positive dermatomyositis as expression of cervical squamous cell carcinoma recurrence.

Idiopathic inflammatory myopathies are neuromuscular disorders characterised by muscle weakness and histologically inflammation within the muscle. Dermatomyositis and polymyositis are highly associated with a wide range of cancers, especially in antitranscriptional intermediary factor-1 (TIF1)-gamma-positive myositis. We present a case of paraneoplastic dermatomyositis in a patient with a medical history of a FIGO stage 1B1 cervical squamous cell carcinoma.

[Acute vulvar pain after covid-19].

This case describes a 36-year-old woman who presents with acute painful ulcers of the vulva four days after a covid-19 infection. Extensive additional examination ruled out sexually transmitted diseases and auto-immune diseases, leaving acute vulvar ulcers, triggered by a covid-19 infection, as likely diagnosis. The ulcers healed spontaneously without scarring.
