To produce samples for both material testing and molded sheets/parts, this article details an open-source scientific cold and hot press design. It consists of two independent and modular upper and lower plate (929 cm) assemblies each containing four 125 W insulated steel strip heaters. The steel housing for these heaters is entirely modular and designed for ease of manufacture, assembly, and customization.

Background: Oncolytic adenoviruses (OAds) are the most clinically tested viral vectors for solid tumors. However, most clinically tested "Armed" OAds show limited antitumor effects in patients with various solid tumors even with increased dosages and multiple injections. We developed a binary oncolytic/helper-dependent adenovirus system (CAdVEC), in which tumors are coinfected with an OAd and a non-replicating helper-dependent Ad (HDAd).

The agri-food sector is undergoing a comprehensive transformation as it transitions towards net zero. To achieve this, fundamental changes and innovations are required, including changes in how food is produced and delivered to customers, new technologies, data and physical infrastructures, and algorithmic advancements. In this paper, we explore the opportunities and challenges of deploying AI-based data infrastructures for sustainability in the agri-food sector by focusing on two case studies: soft-fruit production and brewery operations.

Background: Whether blood lipids are causally associated with colorectal cancer (CRC) risk remains unclear.

Methods: Using two-sample Mendelian randomisation (MR), our study examined the associations of genetically-predicted blood concentrations of lipids and lipoproteins (primary: LDL-C, HDL-C, triglycerides, and total cholesterol), and genetically-proxied inhibition of HMGCR, NPC1L1, and PCSK9 (which mimic therapeutic effects of LDL-lowering drugs), with risks of CRC and its subsites. Genetic associations with lipids were obtained from the Global Lipids Genetics Consortium (n = 1,320,016), while genetic associations with CRC were obtained from the largest existing CRC consortium (n = 58,221 cases and 67,694 controls).
