Purpose: To describe a case of stellate multiform amelanotic choroidopathy (SMACH) with focal hyperfluorescence on indocyanine green angiography (ICGA).

Methods: Case report.

Results: A 19-year-old Caucasian woman was seen for an asymptomatic choroidal lesion.

The photoacoustic spectroscopy (PAS) system commonly enhances the efficiency of optical-acoustic-electrical energy conversion by increasing the laser power, optimizing the resonance characteristics of the photoacoustic cell (PAC), and improving the sensitivity of acoustic sensors. However, conventional systems using a single-microphone or a dual-microphone differential setup for point sampling of the photoacoustic signal fail to account for its spatial distribution, leading to a loss of spatial gain. Drawing on microphone array theory derived from sonar technology, this study, for the first time, presents a PAS sensing system based on a four-microphone array, which is applied to detect chloroform gas.

Disulfide bonds are ubiquitous molecular motifs that influence the tertiary structure and biological functions of many proteins. Yet, it is well known that the disulfide bond is photolabile when exposed to ultraviolet C (UVC) radiation. The deep-UV-induced S─S bond fragmentation kinetics on very fast timescales are especially pivotal to fully understand the photostability and photodamage repair mechanisms in proteins.

Background: Anti-IgLON5 disease is a rare autoimmune neurological disorder with prominent Tau protein deposits in the brainstem and hypothalamus. The aim of this study was to visualize the in vivo distribution patterns of Tau protein in patients with anti-IgLON5 disease using the second-generation Tau PET tracer, Florzolotau (18F) PET imaging.

Methods: Patients diagnosed with anti-IgLON5 disease were enrolled consecutively.

Parkinson's disease is a complex neurodegenerative disorder characterized by degeneration of dopaminergic neurons, with patients manifesting varying motor and nonmotor symptoms. Previous studies using single-cell RNA sequencing in rodent models and humans have identified distinct heterogeneity of neurons and glial cells with differential vulnerability. Recent studies have increasingly leveraged multiomics approaches, including spatial transcriptomics, epigenomics, and proteomics, in the study of Parkinson's disease, providing new insights into pathogenic mechanisms.
