Introduction: Monogenic diseases can be diagnosed before birth. Systemic fetal administration of nanoparticles (NPs) grants therapeutic access to developing stem cell populations impacted by these classes of disease. Delivery of editing reagents in these NPs administered before birth has yielded encouraging results in preclinical mouse models of monogenic diseases.

Background Lung resection is a complex surgical procedure performed in children to address various pulmonary conditions. The success of this surgical intervention in these patients lies in a multidisciplinary approach, with anesthetic management playing a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficacy of the procedure. Background: Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) surgery is a complex specialty and Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications have the potential to improve pre- intra- and postoperative outcomes of HPB surgery. While ethics guidelines have been developed for the use of AI in clinical surgery, the ethical implications and reliability of AI in HPB surgery remain specifically unexplored.

Methods: An online survey was developed by the Innovation Committee of the E-AHPBA to investigate the current perspectives on the ethical principles and trustworthiness of AI in HPB Surgery among E-AHPBA membership.
