In this study, an environmental and economic assessment of WC-Co coatings deposited by Cold Gas Spray (CGS), Atmospheric Plasma Spray (APS) and High Velocity Oxy Fuel (HVOF) spray technologies is carried out. Using SimaPro LCA software, several environmental impact categories are analyzed to compare their environmental performance. The economic analysis includes capital and operating expenditures.

Glass packaging gives rise to major environmental concerns because it develops more greenhouse gas emissions than plastic packaging and its improper discarding causes the loss of high-quality desired resources. The reuse and recycling of glass packaging reduces greenhouse gas emissions and the use of newly extracted resources sand and soda. To mitigate the environmental impacts of glass packaging, countries have set-up various collection and recycling systems, which are often organized and financed through extended producer responsibility schemes.

Scurvy is a rare disease in developed countries and few cases have been reported in adults within the last years. We aimed to report and discuss a case of a 35-year-old male with a medical history of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) who initially presented to the emergency department with complaints of right leg pain, swelling, and weakness. Physical exam revealed low degree fever associated with right knee and ankle ecchymosis and edema, in addition to a well healing laceration on the anterior tibia with hyperpigmentation.
