We present a rare and challenging case of Weil's disease in a patient who was admitted to the Critical Care Unit with a clinical suspicion of the condition. The patient showed a prompt response to treatment before laboratory confirmation was obtained. Leptospirosis, a zoonotic disease, is most commonly found in tropical and temperate regions.

Plasmodium vivax Duffy Binding Protein (PvDBP) is essential for interacting with Duffy antigen receptor for chemokines (DARC) on the surface of red blood cells to allow invasion. Earlier whole genome sequence analyses provided evidence for the duplications of PvDBP. It is unclear whether PvDBP duplications play a role in recent increase of P.

Intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRS) and mobile edge computing (MEC) have recently attracted significant attention in academia and industry. Without consuming any external energy, IRS can extend wireless coverage by smartly reconfiguring the phase shift of a signal towards the receiver with the help of passive elements. On the other hand, MEC has the ability to reduce latency by providing extensive computational facilities to users.

The simian malaria parasite causes a high number of zoonotic infections in Malaysia. The thrombospondin-related apical merozoite protein (TRAMP) is an essential ligand for binding to the erythrocyte cell surface, whereby it facilitates the invasion. This study is the first attempt to determine the genetic diversity, phylogeography, natural selection and population structure from 97 full-length gene sequences originating from Malaysia.
