Age-related antibody profiles in Schistosoma haematobium infections in a rural community in Zimbabwe.

Antibody responses to soluble Schistosoma haematobium egg (SEA) and worm (SWA) antigens in a rural Zimbabwean study population were examined by ELISA. One hundred and sixteen S. haematobium infected and 124 non-infected individuals representing individuals greater than five years old, were included.

An investigation of the schistosomiasis transmission status in Harare.

A schistosomiasis prevalence and intensity survey was carried out among school children in selected residential suburbs of Harare. Urine and stool specimens were collected for determination of schistosomiasis infection from 2,552 children aged between five and 15 years. A total of 351 (13.
