The experience of 329 gastropancreatoduodenal resections for malignant tumors of the periampullary zone has been reviewed. The obstructive jaundice complicated the disease in 237 (70%) patients. The fact required various modalities of the preoperative artificial bile drainage.

[Medical image processing as a necessary tool for a medical diagnostic process].

The authors provide a rationale for mathematically processing medical images for the progression of a medical diagnostic process. The tools made by the real-time conveyor 2D processing and visualization technology are proposed for work with medical images. The results of conveyor 2D processing of medical images as graphical presentations are given.

[Surgical and combined treatment of patients with metastatic liver and lymph nodes invasion by colorectal cancer].

527 patients were operated on for liver colorectal cancer metastases. Of all cases of lymphadenectomy during liver resections, lymph nodes invasion was morphologically proved in 43 patients. 3- and 5-year survival rate in this group was 12,8+/-6.

[Diagnostic criteria for polycystic ovary syndrome].

Due to the comprehensive examination of 50 patients with ovarian polycystosis the authors suggested that ultrasound, laparoscopic, hormonal and endometrial parameters should be employed as diagnostic criteria.
