Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer mortality globally with EGFR mutations representing a significant driver in advanced non-small cell lung cancer (aNSCLC). The timely detection of these mutations is critical for initiating targeted therapy, yet tissue biopsy limitations often delay treatment. This multicenter prospective study evaluated the clinical utility of liquid biopsy (LBx) in real-life settings for the early diagnosis of EGFR mutations in patients with suspected aNSCLC.

Materials And Methods: From 120 patients initially included in the analysis, after applying the exclusion criteria, we selected 102 patients diagnosed and operated on for neoplasm of the upper, middle, and lower rectum for which resection and excision (partial or total) of mesorectum was associated. All the patients we treated in the general surgery department of the County Emergency Hospital of Craiova within a time frame of 5 years (1 October 2017-1 September 2022), and all experienced at least one symptom associated with LARS.

Background: More than 65% of patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) use arteriovenous fistulas (AVFs) for hemodialysis. The increasing incidence of comorbid ESRD and obesity (body mass index, >35 kg/m) precludes patients from kidney transplantation, resulting in a need for long-term, durable AVF access. Compared with traditional superficialization techniques for overlying adiposity, liposuction is minimally invasive and well-tolerated, allowing for earlier fistula use with lower complications.
