laparoscopy has emerged as a pivotal tool for the management of acute abdominal pathologies. It provides diagnostic and therapeutic advantages, enabling surgeons to evaluate and address diverse acute abdominal conditions using minimally invasive techniques. The aim of this consensus was to obtain evidence-based guidance for surgeons regarding the utilization of laparoscopy in emergency medical settings, and has been divided into trauma and non-trauma emergencies.

Perforated Appendiceal Mucocele within an Amyand's Hernia: A Case Report and a Brief Review of Literature.

Amyand's hernia (AH) is a rare type of inguinal hernia, containing the appendix in the hernia sac irrespective of the presence of appendicitis. Appendiceal mucocele represents a dilation of the appendix with an accumulation of mucinous material and could be either a benign or a malignant process. Herein we report an exceptionally rare case of a perforated appendiceal mucocele within an AH.

Wood represents one of the most used natural resources: from construction to musical instruments, tools, toys, fuel, shipbuilding, and, not to mention, stationery, as it is indispensable for modern society. Europe has important wood resources, but for some countries, their sustainable exploitation is at least questionable. However, other countries prefer to monetize their natural resources by developing a competitive tourism industry.

Histopathological findings on resected gastric specimens from obese patients undergoing laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy.

Background And Aims: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between baseline characteristics of obese patients and histopathological findings on resected gastric specimens resulted after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy.

Methods: Seventy-seven patients undergoing laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy in a university surgical department from Romania were included in the present study. Demographic data, preoperative Body Mass Index values, and their relationship with the histopathological findings of resected gastric specimens were statistically analyzed.

Immature Teratoma: Diagnosis and Management-A Review of the Literature.

An immature teratoma is a germinal malignant tumor composed of three germ cell layers, occurring more frequently in young women. It is the second most frequent among the malignant germinal tumors after dysgerminoma, and it is the only neoplasm with germ cells that are histologically graded. Even if we do not have a consensus regarding its therapeutical management, it has a good prognosis, with an excellent overall survival rate and good fertility preservation.
