Introduction: The ability to detect pathogenic bacteria before the onsets of severe respiratory symptoms and to differentiate bacterial infection allows to improve patient-tailored treatment leading to a significant reduction in illness severity, comorbidity as well as antibiotic resistance. As such, this study refines the application of the non-invasive Secondary Electrospray Ionization-High Resolution Mass Spectrometry (SESI-HRMS) methodology for real-time and early detection of human respiratory bacterial pathogens in the respiratory tract of a mouse infection model.

Methods: A real-time analysis of changes in volatile metabolites excreted by mice undergoing a lung infection by Staphylococcus aureus or Streptococcus pneumoniae were evaluated using a SESI-HRMS instrument.

Objectives: to identify and summarize the elements that characterize the family transition process in relation to the first child.

Methods: a scoping review was carried out based on JBI methodology, in six databases, following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews checklist.

Results: ten articles were included with factors characterizing the transition, such as hindering/facilitating conditions that influence the process, important support structures in adaptation and strategies/responses used in the transition process.

Objective: To develop and validate indicators for the evaluation of computerized systems in vaccination rooms.

Methods: Methodological study. From the construction of a logical model for managing information produced in computerized systems in vaccination rooms, an evaluation indicator matrix was developed, and its contents were validated by specialists using the Delphi method.

Single cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) is a relatively new technology that provides an unprecedented, detailed view of cellular heterogeneity and function by delineating the transcriptomic difference among individual cells. This will allow for mapping of cell-type-specific signaling during physiological and pathological processes, to build highly specific models of cellular signaling networks between the many discrete clusters that are present. This technology therefore provides a powerful approach to dissecting the cellular and molecular mechanisms that contribute to autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

With the growing human awareness of trying to reduce the environmental impact in today's world, the development of new sustainably based materials has been the increasing focus of industry and academia. Biocomposites are environmentally friendly materials produced from raw materials synthesized from renewable sources. In this sense, this work aims to characterize and evaluate the mechanical and thermal performances of biocomposites manufactured from a thermoplastic matrix of high-density bioethylene and obtained from ethanol produced from sugarcane and reinforced with organophilic montmorillonite clay.
