Oral health and prophylactic-therapeutic needs of children aged 6 years in Poland in 2012.

Background: Irrespective of the fact that in developed countries, a reduction of dental caries incidence is observed, it still remains the most common chronic disease affecting children in Poland.

Objectives: In the paper, the results of nationwide epidemiological studies conducted in Poland in 2012 within the framework of the Nationwide Dental Health Monitoring Programme were presented.

Material And Methods: The children aged 6 years were enrolled into the study.

Activity of hyaluronidase in placental tissues from cows with and without retained fetal membranes.

Hyaluronidase, a proteoglycan-degrading enzyme, may have an influence on collagenolysis in bovine placenta and take part in the separation processes of the placenta in cows. There was, however, no evidence concerning the activity of this enzyme in those tissues. The experiment was performed on cows divided into two groups as follows: A, placenta not retained (n = 16); and B, placenta retained (n = 9).
