Approaches to regenerate vocal fold in glottic insufficiency remains to be a focus for exploration. This is attributed to the applications of cells or biological molecules alone result in fast degradation and inadequate for regeneration. Development of an injectable hydrogel for glottic insufficiency is challenging, as it needs to be non-cytotoxic, elastic yet possess good strength and easy to fabricate.

The present study contributes to the taxonomy of the family Sillaginidae, with comments on the distribution of its species in the Indian Ocean and an emphasis on the taxonomy and distribution of Sillago sihama. Thirty described and putative species with Indian Ocean distribution are listed, and a distribution range for each species is provided based on published data and results from the present study. A comprehensive phylogenetic analysis of the barcoding portion of the mitochondrial COI gene is provided together with three approaches for molecular species delimitation, which includes 44 to 47 genetic lineages (depending on the species delimitation approach used) in the family Sillaginidae, 33 of them applying to described species and also 8 putative species, formerly misidentified as S.

Introduction: The utilization of laparoscopic techniques in the management of inguinal hernias among pediatric patients has seen a rising trend. We aimed to assess the efficacy of laparoscopic excision of the hernial sac as a suitable approach for managing inguinal hernias specifically in female patients and conducted a prospective study to investigate this hypothesis.

Methods: Over a comprehensive four-year period, a total of 99 hernias in 69 female patients were surgically addressed using laparoscopic methods.

Patients with chronic rhinitis suffer from postnasal drip (PND) but this symptom is not well addressed. Nasal endoscopy may aid in identifying PND. Well described endoscopic features of PND are presence of secretions in the posterior nasal cavity, diffuse erythema, and hemorrhagic spots in the nasopharynx, but these have not been formally studied.

Unlabelled: Reinke oedema is a benign condition due to fluid collection within subepithelial space of the true vocal fold. This phenomenon is predisposed by chronic smoking, alcohol consumption and contribution of laryngopharyngeal reflux. Although benign, it may be life threatening when bilateral vocal folds are affected causing airway obstruction.
