Dental implants have revolutionized tooth replacement, offering a functional and aesthetically pleasing alternative to traditional dentures and bridges. While conventional implants, typically titanium screws placed into the jawbone, have become the gold standard, many studies explore non-conventional implant designs and materials to address specific challenges and patient needs. This series of literature reviews aimed to delve into non-conventional dental implants, examining their unique features and applications and the current state of evidence supporting their use.

Complicated surgical procedures such as ridge augmentation, vestibuloplasty, and sinus lifting are usually accompanied by high risks such as membrane injury, hemorrhage, nerve affection, and increased time needed for implant treatment with unpredictable healing time. Short dental implants allow for faster treatment and decrease the need for complicated surgeries that are usually associated with standard dental implants, as in all four and all six concepts.

Here, we describe the impact of this strategy on the circulation of SARS-COV-2 among children and adolescents during this period.
Methods: We analyzed SARS-COV-2 surveillance data provided by the French National Public Health Agency for the 2020-2021 school year along with the results of school-based screening campaigns implemented by the Ministry of National Education.
Several impression techniques and theories have been developed for implant-retained overdentures, each with its own set of advantages and limitations. This study aimed to assess the chewing efficiency of mandibular implant-retained overdentures fabricated using three distinct impression techniques (mucofunctional, selective, and minimal pressure impression techniques). Twenty-six patients with complete edentulism free from any oral or systemic disease were selected to participate in the study.

Identifying potential protective factors of premature death in this population is important to help guide prevention measures. Here, we examined whether all-cause and cause-specific mortality rates significantly differ between older adults with schizophrenia with and without children, during a 5-year follow-up.
