: While post-acute COVID-19 syndrome is well known and extensively studied, the post-acute COVID vaccination syndrome (PACVS) is a more recent nosological entity that is poorly defined at the immunopathological level, although it shares many symptoms with the sequelae of viral infections. : This single-center retrospective study reports a case series of 17 subjects vaccinated with mRNA or adenoviral vector vaccines who were healthy before vaccination and had never been infected with SARS-CoV-2 but who presented with symptoms similar to PACVS for a median time of 20 months (min 4, max 32). The medical records of all patients referred to our outpatient clinic over a one-year period were retrospectively analyzed.

Major target antigens of ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV) are myeloperoxidase (MPO) and proteinase 3 (PR3). High-affinity MPO- and PR3-ANCA immunoglobulins are produced by antigen-experienced, class-switched autoreactive B cells. To prevent autoreactivity, B cells are subjected to several self-tolerance checkpoints, from the early immature stages in the bone marrow (BM), collectively called "central tolerance", to late mature stages, collectively called "peripheral tolerance"; the latter was recently elucidated for autoreactive PR3 B cells.

Methionine adenosyltransferase 2 A (MAT2A) and MAT2B are essential for hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) activation. Forkhead box M1 (FOXM1) transgenic mice develop liver inflammation and fibrosis. Here we examine if they crosstalk in male mice.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate gaze-scanning by pedestrians with homonymous hemianopia (HH) when walking on mid-block sidewalks.

Methods: Pedestrians with right homonymous hemianopia (RHH), and left homonymous hemianopia (LHH) without and with left spatial neglect (LHSN) walked on city streets wearing a gaze-tracking system. Gaze points were obtained by combining head movement and eye-in-head movement.

Article Synopsis
  • - Endocrine resistance is a major issue for patients with hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer, often linked to dysregulation of estrogen receptor (ER) and ERBB signaling pathways, though how these pathways interact is not fully understood.
  • - The study investigates SMAD4's role in this resistance, finding that lower SMAD4 levels in breast cancer tissues correlate with poor patient outcomes, and that its depletion triggers resistance to endocrine therapy by enhancing ER and ERBB signaling.
  • - The results suggest that targeting SMAD4 alongside ER, ERBB, and autophagy pathways could offer a new treatment approach for patients facing endocrine resistance in HR+ HER2- breast cancer.
