Investigating Anxiety's Impact on Seizure Quality in Electroconvulsive Therapy: A Prospective Observational Study.

Background: Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is a medical procedure for treating severe depression and other mental health disorders, with anesthesia management being crucial for patient safety. Despite extensive research on factors influencing seizure quality during ECT, the impact of pre-ECT anxiety remains insufficiently explored.

Methods: This prospective observational study aimed to investigate the influence of pre-ECT anxiety, as measured by the Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety and Information Scale, on electroencephalogram ictal characteristics during ECT and to explore anesthesia-related factors that may enhance seizure quality.

Background: The reported massive decline of arthropods and particularly of pollinators such as wild bees, in terms of abundance and richness, is a threat for crop production and wild plant biodiversity conservation. This decline is mainly explained by a combination of drivers at local- and landscape-scale related to intensive farming practices. Assessing the evolution of wild bee communities in agricultural ecosystems and their response to such practices is needed to address conservation purposes.

Pilot deployment of a machine-learning enhanced prediction of need for hemorrhage resuscitation after trauma - the ShockMatrix pilot study.

Importance: Decision-making in trauma patients remains challenging and often results in deviation from guidelines. Machine-Learning (ML) enhanced decision-support could improve hemorrhage resuscitation.

Aim: To develop a ML enhanced decision support tool to predict Need for Hemorrhage Resuscitation (NHR) (part I) and test the collection of the predictor variables in real time in a smartphone app (part II).

Background: Promising evidence supports the effectiveness of edutainment interventions in shifting norms to prevent violence against women and girls and other harmful practices, yet further research into mechanisms and pathways of impact is needed to inform intervention development, delivery and scale-up. This exploratory qualitative evaluation examined the feasibility and indications of change in attitudes, beliefs, norms and behaviours following the broadcast of a radio drama aired to prevent age-disparate transactional sex in Kigoma, Tanzania.

Methods: Over seven weeks, six episodes were broadcast on local radio weekly, between November and December 2021 in Kigoma, targeting adolescent girls (aged 13-15 years) and their caregivers.
