Nickelacyclobutanes are reactive intermediates in catalytic cycles involving cyclopropanation and insertion reactions. The stoichiometric study of these intermediates has shown that their reactivity is highly influenced by the coordination environment of the nickel center. A pentacoordinated nickelacyclobutane embedded in a diphosphine pincer ligand has been shown to selectively undergo various reactions with exogenous ligands, including [2+2] cycloreversion and carbene transfer to an isocyanide.

Background: Transition from pediatric to adult healthcare and services is an important event in the life course of all youth, including youth living with medical complexity. Data from the National Survey of Children's Health indicates less than 20 % of youth receive health care transition services. The goal of our study was understanding the support, tools and resources that facilitate successful health care transition of young adults living with medical complexity.

Secondary interactions, such as hydrogen bonding or phase separation, can enhance the stability of dynamic covalent materials without compromising on desired dynamic properties. Here, we investigate the combination of multiple secondary interactions in dynamic covalent materials based on acylsemicarbazides (ASCs), with the aim of achieving tunable material properties. The effects of different ASC substituents on the dynamic covalent and hydrogen bonding capabilities were investigated in a small molecule study using a combined experimental and theoretical approach, and revealed the presence of cooperative hydrogen-bonding interactions in 2 directions in one of the derivatives.

New polymers, properly designed for end-of-life and efficiently formed from renewable carbon, are key to the transition to a more sustainable circular plastics economy. Ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of bicyclic lactones is a promising method for the production of intrinsically recyclable polyesters, but most lactone monomers lack an efficient synthesis route from biobased starting materials, even though this is essential to sustainably account for material loss during the life cycle. Herein, we present the exceptionally rapid and controlled polymerization of a fully biobased tricyclic oxanorbornene-fused γ-butyrolactone monomer ().
