In the present work, four branched methylated, 1,2-dimethyl-3-isopropyl-imidazolium (i-[CDmim]) and protonated,1-methyl-3-isopropyl-imidazolium (i-[Cmim])-based ionic liquids (ILs) with varying anion (Br, BF, PF, and NTf) were synthesized and investigated by NMR, infrared (IR) and Raman spectroscopy. Based on infrared and Raman spectroscopy, complete vibrational assignments have been performed. The IR and Raman analysis revealed that the vibrational spectra are virtually unaffected upon methylation, while significant frequency changes were observed by changing anion.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFObjectives: To compare the ablation margins and safety of microwave ablation (MWA) of perivascular versus non-perivascular liver metastases from colorectal cancer (CRC) and to determine the risk factors for local tumor progression (LTP) after perivascular MWA.
Methods: Between June 2017 and June 2019, 84 metastases were treated: 39 perivascular (<5 mm from a vessel >3 mm), and 46 non-perivascular. Perivascular metastases were treated with either conventional or optimized protocols (maximum power and/or several heating cycles after repositioning the needle regardless of the initial tumor dimensions).
The report concerns findings for brainstem auditory evoked potentials (BAEPs) recorded in 116 children, aged between a few days and 7 years, having suffered from bacterial meningitis. 26% of cases occurred between birth and 6 months, 55% between 6 months and 2 years, and 19% after 2 years of age. Hemophilus was the most common bacteria (49%), followed by Pneumococcus (22%) and Meningococcus (15%).
