Objective: Two decades of research has examined within-person associations between negative emotion states and ambulatory blood pressure (ABP) using ecological momentary assessment (EMA), but no meta-analysis has been conducted. We conducted this systematic review and meta-analysis to quantify the magnitude of this association and identify moderators, review strengths and weaknesses in conceptual and measurement approaches, and provide recommendations.

Methods: We searched databases (PsycINFO, PubMed), identified 15 studies, and obtained data from 13 studies (n = 2511; 142,307 observations).

Recombinant human interleukin 12 (IL-12) is an immunomodulatory cytokine that is active against several viruses. Treatment options in patients with chronic hepatitis C with nonresponse to interferon (IFN)-based therapy are limited. Prior dose-ranging studies have indicated drug tolerability and transient suppression of hepatitis C virus (HCV) RNA by IL-12.

The purpose of this paper is to establish the pharmacokinetics and safety of escalating, once-daily doses of daptomycin, a novel lipopeptide antibiotic active against gram-positive pathogens, including those resistant to methicillin and vancomycin. This phase 1, multiple-dose, double-blind study involved 24 healthy subjects in three dose cohorts (4, 6, and 8 mg/kg of body weight) who were randomized to receive daptomycin or the control at a 3:1 ratio and administered the study medication by a 30-min intravenous infusion every 24 h for 7 to 14 days. Daptomycin pharmacokinetics was assessed by blood and urine sampling.

Objective: Interleukin-12 is a cytokine with a multitude of immunomodulatory actions. Currently, interferon-alpha (IFN-alpha) monotherapy and combination treatment with IFN and ribavirin are the only therapies with proven efficacy against chronic hepatitis C infection. The purpose of this study was to assess the safety and antiviral activity of recombinant interleukin-12 (rhIL-12) in adults with chronic hepatitis C who did not achieve a sustained response to previous IFN-alpha therapy.
