Background And Objectives: Previous research has demonstrated that simulation-based medical education (SBME) can improve neurology trainees' confidence, knowledge, and competence. However, a general needs assessment and review of current SBME used within neurology are needed to guide SBME curriculum development. The objective of this study was to describe the current use of SBME in resident education and to assess perceived barriers to expanding SBME interventions.

Deep neural networks (DNNs) have remarkable potential to reconstruct ultrasound images. However, this promise can suffer from overfitting to training data, which is typically detected via loss function monitoring during an otherwise time-consuming training process or via access to new sources of test data. We present a method to detect overfitting with associated evaluation approaches that only require knowledge of a network architecture and associated trained weights.

Biological and psychological theories suggest complex impacts of heat on aggression and violence. Most previous studies considered temporal intervals of months to years and assumed linear associations. Evidence is needed on daily impacts of temperature on crime, applying non-linear models across different locations.

Despite first-void urine (FVU) being increasingly recognized as a credible specimen for human papillomavirus (HPV) detection, there is a lack of well-validated testing methods providing full quantitative genotyping required for vaccine impact monitoring from FVU samples. The Allplex HPV28 assay, capable of individually detecting 28 HPV genotypes, presents a promising method. We aimed to evaluate its genotype-specific performance on FVU samples, following optimization of FVU preanalytics.

Background: Little is known about the impact of PM on people with disabilities. We aimed to explore the association between PM and hospitalization via the emergency department (ED admission) among people with disabilities, together with the attributable ED admission cases and costs.

Methods: We applied a time-stratified case-crossover design adjusting ozone, holiday, and temperature using seven years (2015-2021) of claim-based data on ED admissions from the Korean National Health Insurance Database.
